Wilfley is pleased to welcome Mark McDowell as our new Director of Manufacturing. Mark comes to us from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in Auburn Hills where he was a member of the executive staff at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant.
Below are some of his key accomplishments during his time at FCA:
- Mark was responsible for the equipment design, manufacturing process, and launch of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. To date, the most successful launch for the company at an extremely critical time for Chrysler and Fiat.
- Six years ago Chrysler changed its operating system to attack losses in every area. Mark took on the difficult challenge of taking the Jefferson North Assembly Plant through a major transformation with the introduction of World Class Manufacturing. Mark was very hands on throughout the four week transformation and personally taught the tools to the hourly employees.
- With the plant transformation complete, Mark also successfully launched two additional crews of people at the plant to meet the increasing demand of the Jeep product.
Mark’s background in design, engineering, machining, construction, launch, operations, public relations and World Class Manufacturing, has developed him into a sound technical leader. Mark has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Mark and his wife, Julie, have three children; Rebecca, Mac, and Jeffrey. In his spare time he likes to be active outdoors and he and his family are looking forward to exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
