CMM Programmer/Quality Technician

Job Description:
Your primary responsibility will be assuring our products conform to established requirements and standards. A practical knowledge of pump design/hardware is preferred. Responsibilities for this position will include the ability to program and operate a Zeiss coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and create associated fixture designs utilizing SolidWorks CAD software. On-job training to develop higher proficiency in CMM programming on this particular machine and operating system will be provided as necessary. It is expected that CMM programming and inspection will be about 50% of the job on average, with the remainder of the work being other Quality Technician duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Additional responsibilities will encompass but not be limited to:
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI)
- Convert part drawing specifications into Detailed Inspection Plans (DIP)
- Provide accurate data as needed to support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) investigations
- Daily routine receiving and manufacturing production inspection activities
- Maintain calibration software for manual hand-held inspection equipment
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections. (raw materials, components, sub-assemblies)
- Read and interpret drawing specifications and have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) per ASME 5M
- Create non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required
- Participate in daily Material Review Board (MRB) discussions about non- conforming parts
- Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection issues
- Document results in various computer databases and other internal programs
- Maintain professionalism at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and at least 5 years of relevant experience. A higher-level degree may substitute for
- A “metrology-minded” individual who is proficient at reading and understanding detailed engineering drawings, and translating dimensioning/tolerancing schemes on 2D engineering drawings into inspection requirements in 3D space (XYZ coordinates) in a CMM
- 2-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Quality Assurance
- Ability to use hand inspection tools. (i.e., calipers, micrometers, thread gages, height gage, etc.)
- Effective teamwork, interpersonal, written and communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, )
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is a plus
- CMM Programming and Inspection experience is required (e.g., Zeiss Calypso, CMM Manager or other software)
